Hey y’all! It’s now officially cold more days of the week than it is warm, so something cozy for church this morning was a must!

Y’all remember my perfect dress from Autumn Trends | Day Two? Well, throw a cozy jumper sweater over it and voila– it’s winterized.

This is a Ralph Lauren cable-knit sweater from ThredUP. My Gianni Bini brand black boots are also from there. Hat was Target a few years ago and the long earrings are from Charming Charlie’s.

If the day had been slightly warmer, I probably would have worn the gorgeous gold heels again, but I’m really starting to move towards comfort over fabulousness in my old age. 😉

 These two verses of Dear Lord and Father of Mankind stuck out to me while we sang them this morning:

Dear Lord and Father of mankind,
Forgive our foolish ways;
Reclothe us in our rightful mind,
In purer lives Thy service find,
In deeper reverence, praise.
Drop Thy still dews of quietness,
Till all our strivings cease;
Take from our souls the strain and stress,
And let our ordered lives confess
The beauty of Thy peace.

What a reminder! The lines in italic especially encouraged me that taking the time to reevaluate and strive for more ordered lives IS a God-glorifying activity. This applies to so many areas of life! But of course I immediately smiled realizing my closet is not confessing the beauty of His peace right now. 😉

I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend! I’m off to play games with friends. Blessings!

  1. It's a very nice look. I know you've mentioned before how you feel like you're maturing into a new style, and I think you're starting to find it. It's also quite a contrast compared to the previous post! 🙂

  2. Those golden shoes are awesome! They look like Disney princess heels lol.

    I love the jumper (sweater?) thrown over a dress, it looks great. I think you may be the person who inspired me to wear a button up shirt over a sleeveless maxi dress, and I extended that idea to wearing a light jumper over a sleeveless or short sleeved dress in autumn and winter.

    You make me wish cute knit hats suited me!

  3. Olivia,

    I love this poem. It reminded me of my Christmas miracles. Having lost 2 pregnancies due to miscarriages this year, I did not have peace or order. When I plead as in Jeremiah with all my heart, I sought Him, I found Him. Our Christmas Eve and Christmas was as joyful as it ever was, when before I had no reserves to lead my family into peace and joy. I love that dress you sewed it looks perfect in every way. Without drawing too much attention in any way, it does bring peace and beauty to the eye. I see that you did a sewing retreat. This is inspiring to me as there are a few ladies who I could share my talent and knowledge of sewing with. I like your fall post analyzing because it is true, that we should always be progressing, realizing more fully the manner we should walk after the ways of the Lord, repentance and change is key to becoming more like His Son.
